And what we have is, why was the story told the way that it was? Could the story have been as successful in the United States with Osages in the leads and the story told from their perspective?
If empathy is garnered from the default notion that nobody wants to see or approve of oppression, exploitation or murder, then this is a clever way to springboard the story into fruition while maintaining the marginalization of Natives. Granted that the story is told brings this plight of the Osages to our attention, it’s doing so, by saying look at the stars—no, not them—it’s these guys.
